Don't Forget The Popcorn!
(Kent WA USA)
I can't tell you how a simple thing like a campfire popcorn popper really made a trip memorable. These poppers are a great to get everyone around the campfire before bedtime. When I was a kid this was the perfect end to a day when my dad got one out. I found it a few years back rusting in my moms shed it brought back the memories so I had to get a new one. When I was in a cub scout camp called Buck Creek, the old one even served as a critter gitter and help relocate a chipmunk out of the cabin!
The recipe is simple, put about a 1/4 cup oil into the pan, add about 1/3 of a cup of popcorn to the popper and pop.. Keep it out of the flames to avoid scorching and dig in. There are pre-packaged kits available with oils salt and popcorn in a single use kit that can't be easier to pack. Ah, the memories.
I found a complete kit at cascadedelights.com and cabaelas and campmore sell the individual poppers as well.
